Contractors Optimistic on Business, Uncertain on New Technology

A recent survey from our sibling publication, Roads & Bridges, shows some positive numbers as far as how contractors see their businesses in 2013, but a less clear vision on how they see new technology such as hybrids and CNG-powered equipment. Fifty-six percent of businesses expect 2013 to rate as very good or good as a business year for their company, while only 10 percent rate this year as poor. Some 58 percent of business owners say the overall health of their company is good or very good. Asked about prospects for the second half of the year, about 43 percent expect the second half of the year to be stronger than the first half.
