Tier 4 Drives New Look at Lubricant Management

Since the EPA mandated low emissions on high-dollar construction equipment, most heavy equipment fleets are a mix of diesel-powered machines with engines of different Tier levels, including some newer Tier 4 machines with added emissions components; pre- and post-2007 on-road diesel haul trucks; plus some gasoline-powered work trucks. Managing and storing their corresponding fuel types is becoming good practice as distributors have increased delivery and availability of ultra-low sulfur diesel fuel, and asset managers have become accustomed to using the correct fuel in their engines.
