Deere Takes K Series Utility Loader Line to Tier 4-Final

John Deere has updated its utility-sized K Series wheel loaders (624K, 644K, and 724K) to meet Tier 4-Final emissions standards. The engine update also allowed the company to offer several machine enhancements to the models. (The 644K Hybrid will retain a Tier 4-Interim engine for the time being.) Deere says its goal was to update the engines with minimal impact to machine performance and maintain the performance features inherent in the K Series. Even with the implementation of a John Deere PowerTech Tier 4-Final engine, the wheel loader models weigh the same as their Tier 4-Interim predecessors with no increase in machine dimensions. In addition, there is no impact on visibility going from a Tier 4-Interim to a Tier 4-Final engine. Deere's Tier 4-Final solution utilizes both cooled EGR and SCR technology.
