Maintenance management continuously evolves as new technologies emerge. Equipment managers must maintain a laser focus on all aspects of their equipment management program to identify areas of opportunity, increase productivity, and decrease cost. Similarly, they must maintain constant vigil upon core functions of the maintenance operation that are vulnerable to external forces.One of the most vulnerable is the supply of repair parts and materials. Disruptions in parts and material supply caused by external forces can lead to equipment downtime and additional cost.
