Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) is a popular technique in Civil Engineering for non-destructive investigations and more especially for the diagnosis of reinforced concrete structures. Its main applications are for the location of reinforcement and for measuring the thickness of elements. The advantage of GPR compared to other techniques, such as the use of a covermeter, is its rapidity of measurement, which allows large surfaces to be covered in a shorter time than with magnetic techniques, However, in a cornparison with covermeters, the main disadvantage of GPR is the difficulty of accurately assessing the depth of reinforcement without advanced processing, or/and calibration.
