Following a year of exceptionally strong growth, the economy is forecast to slow somewhat in 2008, although the consensus forecast for mainland GDP growth of 3.7% is still healthy. Consumer spending, the primary driver of activity in 2007, is anticipated to see a similar reduction in growth.
