Macroeconomic consensus forecasts have remained largely unchanged in this month's survey. A slowdown in GDP growth is expected from an estimated 3.1% in 2007 to 2.3% in 2008. Private consumption is forecast to increase by 1.9%, while manufacturing production growth is anticipated to slow to 1.6% from nearly 3% last year as foreign demand moderates.
