The domestic situation in the Netherlands appears to be improving steadily as household consumption rose by 1.6% (y-o-y) in August, the sixth consecutive month of positive gains. This has risen in line with monthly falls in unemployment levels which have also shown consecu-tive improvements over the same period. Meanwhile, manufacturing output rose by 4.0% (y-o-y) in Septem-ber, though this marks a deceleration from previous months as export growth begins to ebb.
