1. GDP posted a mild contraction of 0.1 % (q-o-q) in Q3, due to shortfalls in manufacturing as external demand fell back. This follows a large 0.9% gain in the previous quarter. Furthermore, investment dropped by 2.0% compared with the previous quarter, owing to increased uncertainty within the Euro zone. Our panel, however, expects GDP growth to resume in the coming quarters. 2. One positive contribution to growth came from domestic demand, as consumers spent more on durable goods and the jobless situation improved for a second consecutive quarter.
