The PMI for manufacturing rose from 65.7 in June to 66.9 in July as the recovery in industry accelerates on improving global demand. This comes despite recent appreciation of the Swiss franc making exports more expensive. Conversely, the reduced cost of imports has caused inflation to decelerate further, from 0.5% (y-o-y) in June to 0.4% in July.
