The final GDP release confirmed that the economy rebounded by 1.4% (q-o-q) during the third quarter. This was slower than the 1.5% figure announced previously as initial estimates for both private consumption and business investment were revised lower. The former rose by 0.7% (q-o-q) while the lattercontracted by 0.4%, ratherthanthe 1.1% expansion expected before. Despite the positive Q3 outtu rn, monthly data suggest a slowdown in the current quarter.
