The preliminary estimate for Q3 GDP growth conveyed a greater-than-anticipated increase of 1% (q-o-q) after three previous quarters of contraction. Services output, which accounts for approximately three-quarters of GDP, surged by 1.3% (q-o-q). Meanwhile, unemployment abated to 7.9% in the three months to August after rising to 8.1 % in the three months to July.
