SIGNIFICANT CHANGES INTHE CONSENSUS

The first Significant Changes analysis of the year focuses on the 2012 outlook for Real GDP and Consumer Price Inflation as well as a first look at 2013 projections for the US, Euro area, Japan, Germany and the UK. As the chart (right) illustrates, the outlook for most G-7 economies has worsened noticeably. Indeed, the GDP consensus for the Euro zone is falling further into negative territory this month. This follows contagion from the debt crisis in the Euro area periphery spreading to core countries like France and Italy.
