1. A strong export performance propelled the economy to a 1 % (q-o-q) expansion in Q2. Exports were up 0.9% (q-o-q), whilst imports dropped by 0.4%. In June, export values jumped a blistering 14% (y-o-y). Household consumption rose by 0.6% (q-o-q), although retail sales advanced by a more-modest 0.4%. Despite a -1.0% (m-o-m) contraction in June, industrial production rose 2.7% (q-o-q) in Q2. 2. Meanwhile, Swedish banks are calling fortougher regulations as household debt and asset bubble concerns escalate. Political reluctance and legal barriers have hindered the implementation of new measures.
