1. The oil price plunge has stemmed activity in the oil and gas industry, weighing on industrial activity. Manufacturing declined by -1.4% (q-o-q) in Q4 and contracted in every quarter of 2015. Mining and quarrying plunged by -10.8% (q-o-q) in Q4 and natural gas extraction slid by -8.7% as firms cut back on capital investment and labour. The jobless rate was still 4.6% in November, but growing numbers of individuals cannot find work.
