Q2 proved exceptionally fruitful for the economy as GDP growth expanded by a blistering 1.5% (q-o-q). The last time a performance of this magnitude occurred was almost ten years ago, before the financial crisis. Household consumption surged by 0.9% (q-o-q) from 0.2% in Q1, while fixed investment grew by 0.8% after Q1 's colossal 4.5% upturn. Exports also fared strongly, climbing by 1.8% (q-o-q) as imports increased less briskly.
