Just prior to our publication release, Statistics Netherlands reported GDP growth of 3.1% in 2017, the largest expansion for a decade and almost a full percentage point higher than 2016. Fixed investment and exports were the key growth drivers, while manufacturing production also buoyed the outturn. Further strength in the latter seems likely this year given the surging confidence level of Dutch manufacturers to an all-time high in January.
