The economy is tipped to progress at a similar pace this year, supported by strong domestic fundamentals and external demand. Falling unemployment and ultra-low borrowing costs continue to uphold consumer spending, even though national accounts figures pointed toward a loss of momentum in Q3. Household consumption rose by 0.6% (q-o-q) in Q4 according to the monthly index, while retail sales volumes climbed by 3.3% (y-o-y) in December.
