Last month's national accounts revisions revealed a narrower Q2 GDP drop of -7.3% (q-o-q), from -8.2%. The dent in Q1 activity was lower than previously announced, building optimism that the Swiss economy could record a smaller overall downturn this year. Despite a large decline in manufacturing, the pharmaceuticals and chemicals industries saw robust activity at the height of the pandemic.
