After our survey deadline, the Dutch Statistics Office reported GDP growth of 1.7% in 2019, almost a percentage point below the expansion a year earlier. A 1.3% advance is estimated this year, although much will hinge on developments in global markets and supply chains. Employed numbers exceeded 9 million for the first time ever in December, and along with low interest rates, should help to bolster consumer spending.
