Updated national accounts data lifted Q2 GDP to +0.1% (q-o-q), equalling the pace set in Q1. The weak figures have ramped up concerns over the outlook nonetheless, compounded by an abject manufacturing PMI reading in September whereby activity suffered its biggest monthly slump in over a decade. The unemployment rate rose to 7.1% in August, almost a full percentage point higherthan at end-2018, adding to concerns amongst households.
