Waning producer and consumer confidence levels had previously increased doubts over the economy's resilience, yet both indexes improved in July. Indeed, the latter rose for a second straight month after hitting a multi-year low in March. Manufacturing production registered a -1.3% (q-o-q) slump in Q2, though, in further signs of a slowdown hampered by softer overseas demand.
