Smart cards are becoming common solutions for companies and consumers who want to increase security beyond user identity and passwords. Because of smart cards' growing popularity, mobile operators and financial institutions are considering using them to facilitate mobile commerce services. Banking, stock, news and other content-delivery applications are a few of the value-added services that smart cards could provide to increase customer loyalty and generate new revenue.
