In spite of the floods in Cologne, and political changes throughout the world, most of the exhibitors thought that it was one of the most successful exhibitions ever to be held for the confectionery industry. Ackermans chocolates commented: 'As this was our first visit to ISM, comparisons to previous years are not possible. However apart from the seemingly pointless and chaotic final day, we found the organisqtion good and made many fruitful contacts.'
