Introduction to the Special Issue on Java Technologies for Real-Time and Embedded Systems: JTRES 2012

Embedded systems are deployed on a broad diversity of processors, architectures and operatingrnsystems. We require higher-level programming languages and specialised tools to help design, producernand maintain real-time embedded software. The Java environment’s characteristics such asrnportability, reuse and modular composability makes it especially valuable for developing embeddedrnsystems.
