Southwark Underground Station: Jubilee Line Extension, London

The new Southwark Station on the extended Jubilee Line -designed by architects MacCor-mac Jamieson Prichard (MJP) -makes extensive use of Forticrete's Medici polished masonry. This white masonry is a key aspect of the station, literally reflecting the use of curved glass walls in the main ticket halls, framing escalator tunnel entrances with elliptical archways, and providing the main focus on the lower concourse where masonry and glass lighting features express movement in form as if slicing through the stairways.
