Concrete in a changing world

The 29th Institute of Concrete Technology annual convention was held on 24 April in South Normanton, Derbyshire, with around 130 delegates in attendance. This year's theme was Concrete in a changing world: new standards and conformity, with speakers from industry and acade-mia. The chairman was Dr John Newman of Imperial College, who pointed out that today's industry is under many pressures, including environmental considerations, with the introduction of European Standards and guidance documents.
