Bryan Jefferson (1928-2014)

Bryan Jefferson was born in Sheffield in 1928 but raised in Derbyshire after the death of his father in the first blitz of the city during the Second World War. He was educated at Lady Manners School, Bakewell and after a spell of national service with the RAF read architecture at Sheffield University. On graduating, he joined the new practice of Major Sam Morrison in Derby and was sent to open the firm's Sheffield office. This metamorphosed into Morrison Partners & Jefferson, then Jefferson & Partners and finally, joined by fellow alumnus Gerald Sheard in 1957, Jefferson Sheard & Partners.
