Vikas Khan, the founder, chairman and ceo of Emirates Shipping Line, intends using his many years of experience to create a new liner company with a difference. Emirates Shipping Line (ESL), with dual headquarters in Dubai and Hong Kong, is a brand new company uninterested in taking baby steps into the marketplace. Its first service was launched in May 2006, but by mid-August, four weekly liner services were already in place, and four ships secured under time charter contracts.
