The predictions of consolidation in the logistics sector have been fulfilled. The past 12 months have seen large-scale takeover activities by the world's leading logistics service providers (LSPs), making a reality of the notion of global logistics companies with a presence across air, sea and land. And it has been the Europe-based LSPs that have made the running. But this has only been possible by vigorous growth in the international transport market-above all, into China - as Thomas Cullen reports.
