Chinese ports up another 20% +

Container traffic handled at China's main ports in the first nine months of 2007 increased by almost 23% compared with the corresponding period of 2006. Total volumes amassed just over 82 million TEU, an absolute rise of 15.2 million TEU. The boom in container exports continued to fuel this growth, with the gateway ports for the principal manufacturing areas, in Yangtze river delta, Pearl river delta, Shandong and Tianjin industrial zones, posting the fastest increases.
