CMA CGM to raise funds in US

It has been confirmed that CMA CGM is to set up a vessel investment vehicle in the US called Global Ship Lease (GSL). Investors will be asked to buy nearly 18.9 million shares in the company at between USD19-USD21 each. Assuming all shares are taken up, the US market is, therefore, expected to stomp up over USD359 million in cash for the initial acquisition, in stages, of 10 second-hand vessels and two new-builds from CMA CGM.
