A Raised Glass To A Promising Future

The so-called Guidelines on the Application of Article 81 of the EC Treaty to Maritime Transport Services were finally published on July 1,2008. When they were released I was with Peter Camesasca of Howrey LLP, the counsel for the ELAA. We were in Shanghai, having had meetings with various ELAA members there. We received a message that the guidelines had been published, and as quickly as possible we resorted to our computers to read what had been five years in the making for us at the ELAA. It was what the association was set up to do.
