China's container ports recorded a much slower rate of growth in their throughput in the first half of 2008,compared to the same period in 2007. The country's ports handled a total of 61.6 million TEU representing an increase of 17.1% compared to the same period last year. This was well down on the 24% surge experienced year-on-year between 2006 and 2007.
