The collapse of the World Trade Organisation's (WTO) Doha Round of trade talks on July 29 comes at a bad time for the shipping industry and for emerging economies,particularly in Africa. It had been hoped that a successful conclusion to the talks,which had been ongoing for the past seven years,would provide a much needed fillip to trade.
