CKYH cuts Asia/USWC loop

The CKYH Alliance - Coscon, K Line, Yang Ming and Hanjin -has announced that it is rationalising its Asia/US West Coast services. From the end of June, CKYH will transfer 5 × 4,300TEU ships from the Y-PNW-oper-ated loop to the PSW2 service, which presently uses five vessels of around 5.500TEU. The PSW2 will also change its port rotation to Hong Kong, Yantian, Kaohsiung, Keelung, Los Angeles, Oakland, Keelung, Kaohsiung and Hong Kong. The PSW4 and PSW5 services will be merged and use the five ships of around 5,500 TEU that are currently used on the PSW2 service. The PSW4 currently uses 5 × 3,300TEU vessels and the PSW5 string deploys 5 ×1,800TEU contain-erships.
