CMA CGM teams up with NWA for Japan/USWC

CMA CGM has announced that it has signed a slot charter agreement with the New World Alliance - MOL, APL and HMM - on the new weekly Fuji service linking Japan and the US West Coast (USWC). Operating with four vessels, with capacity ranging from 2,800 to 3.500TEU, the NWA service offers a direct connection between five Japanese ports - Osaka, Kobe, Nagoya, Shimizu, Tokyo - and Los Angeles on the USWC and guarantees a competitive transit time, of nine days between Tokyo and Los Angeles. CMA CGM's participation on this service is in line with its recent moves on its trade from Asia to USWC, which has seen it shift towards a position of having a small participation in several loops where previously it was not involved.
