Pacer expands its warehousing operations

Pacer Distribution Services (PDS), a subsidiary of the US-based 3PL and transport provider Pacer International, has expanded its warehousing operations in southern California. With the opening of a 194,000ft~2 transload and warehouse facility in Carson (CA), near the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, PDS has increased the capacity of its southern Californian campus to more than 800,000ft~2. In this region PDS provides comprehensive warehousing, transportation and value-added services, at both Lyn-wood and South Gate as well as Carson. At the Carson facility services include drayage to/from the ports, provided by PDS' fleet of 130 trucks. High velocity transloading is also undertaken, in which retail and other import shipments are moved through the facility and on to North American distribution locations.
