Daikin Industries of Japan has responded to the need for more fuel-efficient and less carbon-emitting machinery for reefer containers by launching a new version of its temperature management software. Called DTMS2, its main difference from DTMS1, which has been in the market since 2005, is the reduced amount of power required when moving frozen cargo. David Marjoram, general manager of ITOCHU Europe, the sales agent for Daikin products, alluded to savings being achieved through 'fine tuning of the software, following over three years of experience with DTMS1'.
