Capacity added to S.Asia/Europe trade

Maersk Line has upgraded its ME3 weekly service between Europe and Southern Asia. Five vessels averaging 6.250TEU will eventually replace the 4 × 5.500TEU ships in service, providing more capacity and better schedule reliability. The new vessels will be run at reduced speed to save fuel and protect the environment. The Moroccan port of Tan-giers has also been added to the schedule, to provide better connections to/from the Mediterranean and Africa. The new port rotation is: Jebel Ali, Nhava Sheva, Salalah, Jeddah, Port Said, Gioia Tauro, Algeciras and Tangiers.
