A P Moller-Maersk makes further Odense job cuts

Approximately 250 jobs are to be cut at A P Moller-Maersk's shipbuilding subsidiary Odense Staalskibsvaerft A/S to make it more competitive. It is unclear what proportion of its vessels are ordered by other group divisions, such as Maersk Line, but it is understood that without this business, the Odense shipyard would be unsustainable - as most other European shipyards have found to their cost, due to severe competition from South Korea, and China.
