It is hoped that freight traffic moved along the Trans Caprivi Corridor (TCC) linking Walvis Bay (Namibia) with Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) will benefit from the appointment of a full time programme co-ordinator. While infrastructure supporting the TCC has been improved, with highway and rail links upgraded and automated border post customs procedures put in place, issues such as road safety, axel load limits, immigration and customs clearance procedures have affected the corridor's growth potential.
