The relationship between Taipei-based Wan Hai Lines and Singapore-headquartered PIL is set to deepen following their recent signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore a 10-year strategic alliance. While collaboration between two of Asia's largest intra-regional ocean carriers has focused on providing jointly-scheduled liner services on trades such as the transpacific, Far Eastorthern Europe and Far East/Black Sea/eastern Mediterranean, the MoU extends the brief to exploring ventures in the terminal/stevedoring, ship repair and shipbuilding sectors.
