Hong Kong-headquartered Orient Overseas (International) Ltd (OOIL) has announced a strong set of results for its 2007 fiscal year, which ended December 31, 2007. Net profit attributable to shareholders at the diversified shipping, transport logistics and property group rose almost 339% to USD2.5 billion last year. Principally, this reflected an extraordinary gain of USD2 billion from the disposal of several of its North American container terminals to the Ontario Teachers Pension Plan.
