The southern Brazilian port of Paranagua's container volumes will receive a much needed boost by early April, with the addition of three new strings, plus the upgrading of Alianca's cabotage service from fortnightly to weekly. The additional business will allow the operator, Terminal de Conteneires de Paranagua (TCP), to more than compensate for the withdrawal from the port of the Samba service earlier this year (see 'Changes afoot at Paranagua, Brazil', CI January 2008, p9).
