South Korean ocean carriers Han-jin Shipping and Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) have started swapping slots on their transpacific services.rnIn the deal, Hanjin will take space on HMM's Suez Express (SZX) service while HMM will use slots on the former's AWN (All Water North Atlantic) service.rnHMM deploys 8 × 4.000TEU vessels on its SZX service on the following rotation: Singapore, Colombo, via Suez Canal, New York, Charleston, Savannah, Norfolk, Suez, Jebel AM and Singapore.rnMeanwhile, Hanjin's AWN service uses 8 × 4.300TEU ships calling at Kaohsiung, Yantian, Shanghai, Busan, via Panama Canal, New York, Norfolk, Savannah, Panama and return to Kaohsiung.rnA spokesperson for HMM told CL 'HMM and Hanjin wanted to expand the coverage in the Asia-US east coast sector and both found the necessity of the co-operation. HMM needed Hanjin's all water service via Panama while Hanjin needed HMM's Suez service.'
