The Sharjah Ports Authority-owned container terminals at Sharjah and Khor Fakkan in the UAE have posted several years of growth, increasing their combined throughput by just over 15% in 2008 to 2.5 million TEU.rnManaged by Gulftainer, last year Khor Fakkan benefited from both the congestion at nearby Jebel Ali and the bringing on stream of new capacity.rnUnfortunately, however, Shar-jah/Khor Fakkan was inadvertently left out of the global league table on page 5 of our July Global Ports & Terminals supplement. The ports should have appeared between Kobe and Le Havre in 44th place.
