The UK's 'The Box' project which tracked a 40ft container around the world for over a year - a year of extreme turbulence for the shipping industry - has finally been retired to Cape Town, South Africa. It is now doing good work as a charity soup kitchen.rnThe Box, which carried commodities from whisky, to bathroom scales, to cat food in its 421 days and 50,000 miles of service, took its final journey in mid-November from the UK port of Tilbury to Cape Town on Maersk Line's Lars Maersk.rnOn its final voyage the well-travelled container transported a consignment of used books for the charity 'Help the Rural Child'. The Box will see out its days converted tornuse as a soup kitchen for the charity 'Breadline Africa'.
