RVRI secures funding for upgrade programme

Nairobi (Kenya)-based Rift Valley Railways Investments (RVRI) has secured significant amounts of funding from a collection of international and local banks for its five-year USD290 million rehabilitation and upgrade programme. The company, which is majority owned by Egypt's Citadel Group, runs passenger and freight services across Kenya and into Uganda, including from the main port of Mombasa.
