Nigeria approves new box port

Nigeria has approved development of a 2.5m teu capacity terminal at Lekki by Philippines-basec International Container Terminal Services, in a join venture with Singapore-based investor Tolaram Group. Lekki's 21-year-concessi deepwater port, with 1.2 km of quay able to handle 10,000 teu vessels, will serve the region around the Nigerian capital Lagos and transhipment cargo to West Africa.
